Slidell Job Seekers: Write That Thank-You Note!

To show that you're not only engaged but also professional and just an all-around pleasant person, one of the easiest thing you can do is to write a simple thank-you note to an employer after they've taken the time to give you an interview for their open position. While applying for Slidell jobs, here's a few pointers when it comes time to write that note.

1. Keep it professional: while thank you letters tend to be more personalized than cover letters, it is always a good idea to keep them formal and professional. Thank yous written in this way are more likely to impress.

2. Send one to each person you interviewed with: if you interviewed with more than one individual, it is a good idea to send a thank you to each interviewer. If this is the case, it is best to customize each thank you, and have them address the topics that came up during your time with them.

3. Email it: you want to send your thank you letter as soon as possible (within 48 hours), so email it. Emailing thank you letters is an acceptable and common practice. It doesn’t even have to be an attached document. You could have your thank you in the body of the email, so long as it is concise and well written.

4. Send one even if you don’t get the job: if you get turned down, it is still a good idea to send a letter thanking them for your time. This will end your interaction with the company on a positive note, and they may remember you down the line for it.
