After the Interview: What to Do for Slidell Jobs Seekers

Congratulations! As you've been on the search for jobs in Slidell, it can seem like the job interviews are infrequent. You should give yourself some credit for every interview you land. Now, regardless of what you think your performance was in any given interview there some things you should do to follow up with each employer and to increase your chances of landing that job.

1. Don’t be afraid to ask what the next step is: at the end of the interview, go ahead and ask your interviewer what comes next. That way, you will know what to expect and when the appropriate time for a follow up email or phone call would be.

2. Write a thank you letter: this should be your top priority immediately after your interview. A well-crafted letter to your interviewer should reiterate your interest in the position, and thank them for considering you for the position. If you were interviewed by several different people, they should all receive thank you letters as well. It is acceptable to send these via email.

3. Send a follow up email: if your interviewers tell you that they will have an update in a week then send them an email a week later (if you haven’t heard back from them yet). In addition to helping you get an update, this email will also show that you paid attention during your interview.
