Role Summary
The Director, Client Acquisition is accountable for revenue generation and growth for new target accounts. This role focuses on building long-term client value through developing trusted relationships, contributing to the P&L, and developing and closing new business within target regions. It also involves promoting strategic initiatives aligning ENGIE Impact and other ENGIE Business Unit solutions with client needs and values.
This role will lead a team of ENGIE Impact sales professionals responsible for revenue growth of new target accounts through promotion and implementation of ENGIE Group's sustainability and resource solutions.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
- Build, coach, and lead a high-performing sales team achieving individual quotas and fostering a sales-focused culture.
- Understand and communicate the value of ENGIE Impact's offerings, demonstrating their purpose and performance.
- Attract, hire, retain top talent, and manage team performance.
- Set strategy and execution plans for revenue development, leveraging sales territory plans and cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop comprehensive 12-month sales plans with specific activities and objectives.
- Report on sales pipeline, forecast, and develop mitigation strategies as needed.
- Forecast and track key sales metrics, manage team performance, and coordinate compensation plans.
- Develop account growth strategies, nurture relationships with client decision-makers, and negotiate contracts.
- Lead quarterly business reviews and collaborate across teams for service delivery and strategy execution.
- Establish new business opportunities through networking, qualification, and closing techniques.
- Understand customer business to facilitate cross-selling and account support.
- Provide accurate forecasts and develop reference cases and product roadmaps.
First Six Months
- Learn the business, develop understanding of client experience and industry environment.
- Implement foundational operating rhythms and KPIs.
- Build relationships with leadership and identify quick wins.
Long-term Goals
- Develop and implement value creation strategies.
- Lead territory and reselling strategy execution.
- Re-evaluate sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals and adopt new technologies.
Leadership Expectations
- Partner with internal teams to understand client needs and translate into solutions.
- Provide strategic direction for technology and sales ecosystem improvements.
- Use data to analyze and improve business processes and sales strategies.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Business Management, or related fields.
- 15+ years of sales experience with large portfolios.
- 7+ years in energy, sustainability services, or related fields.
- Proven track record in meeting sales targets, solution selling, and C-level engagement.
- Experience with customer segments like Retail, Industrial, Hospitality, etc., and knowledge of resource services including renewable energy.
Skills and Competencies
- Strategic business development and operational leadership skills.
- Results-oriented with strong data analysis capabilities.
- Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office.
Additional Information
Work schedules vary; some travel up to 50% may be required. Physical activities include sitting, standing, lifting up to 15 pounds, and using a computer.
