Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. This short-term contract to full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and rapidly growing organization within the import/export industry. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance, and supporting the overall operations of the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Manage administrative and clerical tasks for the Accounts Payable and Finance Department.
• Execute daily financial processes and controls with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal business partners and external stakeholders.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and organizing required documentation.
• Handle incoming department mail by sorting, opening, and distributing it appropriately.
• Organize and maintain records by sorting, logging, photocopying, and filing invoices, checks, and other financial documents.
• Verify and process checks for mailing, including expediting special handling as needed.
• Participate in special projects and assignments as directed by management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and financial teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Familiarity with coding invoices, check runs, and invoice processing is highly desirable.
