Responsible for assembling supplies and preparing machinery for dialysis. Prepares machines and solutions according to protocol. Performs required tests, monitors, and other duties during patient dialysis treatment. Takes the patients vital signs and monitors the patient, before, during, and after the treatment. Monitors patients and equipment, responds to alarms, and adjusts treatment as required. Measures, calculates, and adjusts blood flow and fluid removal rates. Disinfects dialysis supplies and sanitizes the equipment. Communicates the emotional, medical, psychosocial, and nutritional concerns to the appropriate nursing staff and works with them to ensure patient needs are met. Administers prescribed treatment as directed by physicians and/or nursing staff. Documents all treatment details as required. Ensures patient safety and comfort during the treatment.
