A General Manager is responsible for leading a team, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of restaurant management, and a passion for driving sales while maintaining a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise and train staff, including conducting employee orientation and ongoing training sessions.
- Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize shrinkage.
- Implement effective recruiting strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
Skills
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent restaurant management experience
- Communication in English. Fundamental requirements include reading, writing, math, POS and MS Excel skills.
- Previous experience as an Assistant/General Manager in a customer service environment with P&L experience.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Strong knowledge of Food and Beverage performance metrics and cost control
- Proficient in recruiting techniques to build a strong team.
- Excellent shift management capabilities to ensure smooth store operations.
- Supervising skills that promote team engagement and accountability.
- Strong math skills for handling transactions, inventory counts, and financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated and action-oriented
- Willing to admit when you make a mistake, take accountability and learn from it
- Prompt attendance on assigned shifts- dependable and reliable
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available and willing to work a variety of shifts including weekend, evenings and holidays.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 45 hours weekly.
- Physical Requirements: Lift, move, carry and stack cartons up to 50 lbs from various heights and positions. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Frequent exposure to various temperatures in areas such as a cooler/freezer as well as back of house grill areas.
