The A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in Accounting with a primary focus on Taxation. The appointment-at the rank of Professor of Practice or Lecturer-may be for one, two, or three years, beginning July 1, 2026. Salary, teaching load, and benefits are competitive with other major research institutions and subject to final budgetary approval.

We seek an educator with deep practical expertise in taxation, including the federal taxation of pass-through entities (partnerships and S corporations), individual taxation, and tax research. The ideal candidate will make complex tax concepts accessible and design engaging, applied assignments. While taxation will be the primary teaching focus, the role may also include courses in financial or managerial accounting, depending on school needs and candidate expertise.

Professors of Practice and Lecturers at Freeman deliver rigorous undergraduate and graduate courses-often with an experiential learning focus-stay active in their fields, and contribute to service within the school and university.

Candidates must be either:

* Professionally Qualified: Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation with a substantial record of recent professional experience.

* Academically Qualified: Ph.D. in Accounting or Taxation, or J.D. with ongoing scholarly and/or professional engagement.

Preferred:

* CPA license or significant professional tax experience.

* Substantial experience in pass-through entity taxation.

* Proven ability to teach technical topics clearly and with practical relevance.

* Interest in curriculum development and student mentoring.

* Ability to teach additional accounting topics beyond taxation.

* Experience with tax compliance or planning for partnerships, S corporations, or closely held businesses.
