The Gulf Scholar's Program Coordinator has general administrative responsibility for the Gulf Scholar's program. This Program Coordinator exercises discretion and independent judgment, consistent with the mission and goals of Tulane University. The Gulf Scholars Program Coordinator works side-by-side with the Faculty Director of the program in planning all of program activities, organizing and managing the annual recruitment of scholars, organizing and staffing the faculty steering committee meetings, ensuring that the assessment materials are collected and stored as well as creating and maintaining the website for the program. The Program Coordinator will also have support duties in the Coordinated Instrumentation Facility and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
* Excellent organizational, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines.
* Excellent data management skills.
* Proficient computer skills; working knowledge of various Microsoft office software applications; particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Experience with website content update and website design.
* Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
* Ability to interact professionally and courteously with individuals of diverse personalities, education and cultural backgrounds.
* Ability to handle and organize large quantities of data including registrations, payments, etc.
* Ability to work evenings, early mornings, and weekends, as needed.
* Bachelor's Degree.
* At least one year of work experience in an academic or office setting.
* Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field preferred.
* At least two years' experience in an academic or office setting.
