Job Summary:

Performs cleaning and maintenance of all hospital floors, including cleaning, stripping, waxing, and

buffing on a routine and project basis. Performs cleaning and shampooing of carpeted areas.

Maintains equipment in clean, working condition. Will demonstrate proper use of chemicals and

other supplies. May be responsible for moving furniture and equipment e.g.: floor

scrubbers, buffing machines, bins of clean and dirty linen, and bins of hospital garbage and

contaminated waste. Will be exposed to various types of chemicals. Demonstrates knowledge

and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all

age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Experience:

One year of previous work experience preferred. Previous experience in housekeeping or in

The healthcare field preferred.

Mental Demands:

Ability to perform repetitive tasks, accept disrupting workflow, tand ake verbal/written instructions

and follow them precisely, demonstrate cooperativeness, good judgment, initiative, ability to

relate well to other people, work without close supervision, possess good verbal/written

communication skills.
