Accounts Payable Clerk

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences New Orleans is seeking candidates to join our Finance team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. This position maintains our systems for purchase orders, receipts, invoices and check requests in order to promptly and adequately support, document and process for payment all hotel payables. This position also ensures that all vendors are paid according to the agreed terms and to Four Seasons policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Staff Accountant and Assistant Director of Finance, the Accounting Generalist responsibilities include the following tasks:

  • Maintain organized vendor files with invoices and payment documentation.
  • Process all Accounts Payable invoices and manual checks in the system.
  • Ensure payments are accurate, properly authorized, and supported by required documentation.
  • Prepare wire transfer authorization forms and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Manage and maintain a list of standing electronic disbursements for approval and reconciliation.
  • Verify and process expense reports and petty cash reimbursements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies directly with vendors.
  • Prepare manual checks as directed by finance leadership.
  • Run month-end reports to close the Accounts Payable cycle.
  • Accrue goods and services received but not yet invoiced.

What you bring:

  • Minimum three to 12 months experience in related position with Four Seasons or other organization
  • High School/College education or equivalent experience (College Graduate preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to work with peers, superiors and clients
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt and quickly solve problems that may arise

Schedule and Hours:

  • This position is a full-time role. Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours a week. This position's work schedule is typically during the day Monday-Friday; however, candidates may be needed to work nights, weekends, and holidays during busy financial events, including Month-End, etc.
