Job Title: Culinary Operations Manager

Position Classification: Full-Time / Exempt

Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary

The Culinary Operations Manager leads all aspects of kitchen operations and supervises Heart of House (HOH) teammembers. This dynamic role is essential for ensuring outstanding food quality, safety, and efficient execution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, operational discipline, and a passion for delivering consistent, scratch-made dishes with pride. The Culinary Operations Manager upholds high standards, drives financial success, and cultivates a culture of teamwork, cleanliness, and enjoyment in a busy kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Operations & Food Quality

  • Ensure all menu offerings satisfy quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
  • Oversee all kitchen processes, including preparation, production, food safety, and sanitation.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards, external inspections, and local health department regulations.
  • Manage inventory, oversee food ordering, and implement waste control measures to achieve budgeted food costs.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor Heart of House (HOH) team members, fostering growth and success.
  • Provide constructive coaching, feedback, and performance management according to company policies.
  • Encourage a positive, team-oriented atmosphere that promotes accountability and enjoyment.
  • Facilitate effective communication with the management team to ensure smooth service delivery.

Business & Financial Performance

  • Monitor and manage food, labor, and supply costs to meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and follow proper receiving protocols.
  • Contribute to achieving overall restaurant sales and profitability goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in a fast-paced, full-service kitchen.
  • Proven track record in culinary leadership and operational success.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities.
  • Culinary school education is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Availability to work 50-60 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
