Core System Programmer (Symitar)
The Symitar Core System Programmer supports and advances PEFCU's Symitar core system and related business applications, ensuring operational reliability and efficiency. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing technical solutions, translating business requirements into actionable specifications, and providing technical leadership. The programmer collaborates with stakeholders to optimize systems, resolve complex technical issues, and maintains thorough documentation to support ongoing improvements.
What you will do…
Development: Design, code (PowerOn, SQL, etc.), test, and deploy custom solutions, reports (like Symform PDF), and enhancements for the Episys core.
Integration: Build and maintain connections between Symitar and third-party platforms (using SymXchange, Symform, web services).
Analysis: Gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications.
Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring system stability and data integrity.
Collaboration: Work with business units, IT, and project managers, providing technical guidance and support.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documents, procedures, and code standards.
What you need…
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of hands-on Symitar programming experience, including PowerOn scripting and Symitar system administration.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience with system integration, automation, and process improvement.
Knowledge of compliance, security, and internal controls related to core banking systems, preferred.
Experience with additional Jack Henry products/modules, preferred.
