Typical Day in the Role

  • Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to run events and keep business running smoothly. Looking for someone to help drive events / planning / staying on track.
  • Key projects: This role will contribute to fiscal year planning. Standing up a process and driving the process. Need help with deliverables weekly/quarterly/semesterly/ aligning what mail to send out - always tweaking and moving things around.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
  • Mornings with team meetings to align tasks for the day, the rest is independent work and a check-in at the end of the workday. A lot of partnership with sponsor.
  • Daily standups M-TH and reserve Fridays for focus time.¿
Candidate Requirements
  • Years of Experience Required: 8-10 overall years of experience in the field.¿
Degrees or certifications required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred¿
Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain
  • Someone who has done ROB planning at Microsoft before
  • Chief of Office experience
  • Microsoft experience / business experience in planning and what that means/looks like
  • Solutions oriented - someone who likes to solve complex problems
  • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines and quality of wor¿

Summary:
The main function of a non-IT program manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT-based project.¿
Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.
  • Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
  • Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  • Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
  • Direct, review and approve product designs and changes.
  • Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.¿

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred.
  • 8-10 years' experience required.
