The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing professional and compassionate patient interaction while delivering high-quality specimen collection services.
This role involves drawing blood specimens safely and accurately, preparing samples for laboratory testing, maintaining patient confidentiality, and promoting a positive and professional environment. The position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing
Explain procedures to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection following established procedures
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture
Label specimens accurately in the presence of the patient
Maintain required records and documentation
Maintain a safe and professional work environment
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervisor direction
Travel to multiple Patient Service Center and In-Office Phlebotomy locations as needed
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Keyboard and data entry experience
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable)
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call
Nice-to-Have Experience
Medical assistant or paramedic training
Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA)
Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment
Retail or service-based customer service experience
