The Alterations Customer Service Specialist is essential for the seamless operation of our Alterations department and for providing exceptional experiences to our customers. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will welcome and assist customers, manage appointments, handle incoming calls, press garments, and prepare items for pickup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting all customers warmly and genuinely, adapting your communication style to meet their unique needs.
  • Utilizing company systems to manage customer inquiries effectively, aiming for a five-star service experience.
  • Committing to our service principles: Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs, and Be There for every customer, addressing both emotional and practical needs.
  • Handling multiple customer interactions efficiently while contributing to exceptional customer service ratings. Address concerns proactively and know when to escalate issues to leadership.
  • Clearly communicating the significance of alterations in enhancing the customer's experience with their dress.
  • Promoting all alteration services and personalization options available.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized store environment, ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience.
  • Adhering to the Dress Code policy to uphold high presentation standards.
  • Welcoming and escorting customers to and from their alteration appointments.
  • Pressing, steaming, and spot cleaning garments as necessary.
  • Conducting quality control checks by inspecting all garments for pristine conditions before delivery.
  • Building lasting relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Assisting with inventory management, including special orders and ensuring quality standards.
  • Supporting cash wrap activities and processing transactions accurately to create a celebratory atmosphere for each customer.
  • Seeking assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
  • Keeping the alterations room clean and organized.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by store management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach for objects; and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Capability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds.
  • Good vision for close and distance viewing and the ability to operate electronic devices and POS systems.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of retail experience in an apparel or specialty store.
  • Prior sewing experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with computerized POS systems is preferred.
