We are seeking an experienced Level 2 Digital Radiography/Computed Tomography Technician to be an integral part of the team that keeps NSI at the forefront of NDT technology. The DR/CT Level 2 Technician plays a key role in delivering high-quality X-ray and Computed Tomography (CT) inspection services on customer-supplied products. This position performs work in accordance with customer specifications, written procedures, and recognized industry standards. The Level 2 Technician collaborates closely with Coordinators, Sales, and fellow X-ray Technicians to successfully plan and execute projects. As a technical expert within the organization, this role also supports customer engagement efforts, including product demonstrations and technical consultations.

What You'll Do:

Primary Responsibilities -

  • Partner with industry-leading organizations to capture internal and external product geometry using advanced mini-focus and micro-focus digital X-ray and 3D CT imaging systems.
  • Support customers with failure analysis, product development, research and development, and production-level inspections through the effective use of digital radiography and CT technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for low-energy X-ray systems, providing technical guidance and support to sales and cross-functional teams within NSI.
  • Develop, optimize, and execute DR and CT inspection techniques tailored to customer requirements and product applications.
  • Reconstruct, analyze, and compile scan data, delivering clear, accurate, and complete results in alignment with customer expectations.
  • Provide direct oversight, coaching, and technical approval for Trainees and Level 1 Technicians, including on-the-job training (OJT) and technique validation.
  • Perform Level 2 final review and acceptance of DR and CT inspection data to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Design and implement innovative sample fixturing solutions to improve inspection efficiency, repeatability, and image quality.
  • Collaborate with Sales to support project quoting and propose inspection strategies that meet or exceed customer needs.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through professional interactions with current and prospective clients via phone, in person, webinars, onsite meetings, technical reports, and presentations.
  • Perform advanced post-processing and analysis of CT data, including (but not limited to) dimensional metrology, CAD-to-part comparison, porosity analysis, automated inspection, and use of Volume Graphics software tools.
  • Maintain and continuously expand technical expertise in cutting-edge X-ray and CT technologies, applications, and best practices.
  • Apply experience and judgment to support diverse customer applications across digital radiography and CT markets.
Secondary Responsibilities -
  • Demonstrate NSI software and hardware capabilities to prospective customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide operational and technical support to the broader business as needed.
  • Accurately document completed projects and maintain daily inspection records.
  • Operate and maintain DR and CT equipment in accordance with NSI guidelines and safety standards.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on X-ray and CT systems.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of customer parts and project deliverables when required.
  • Travel up to approximately 15% to customer sites, company locations, trade shows, or industry events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting team and organizational goals.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking qualified candidates who bring:
  • Associates degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience in DR and CT Level 2 (or Equivalent Training)
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Microfocus Imaging experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable of VG Software Suite
  • General technical aptitude
  • Knowledge of X-ray principles and use
  • Adaptive learner of new software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)


Compensation Information:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $33-43/hr. based on education and experience.
