Full performance level electrical systems work in the alteration, maintenance and repair of the City's electrical infrastructure, wire and cable/lines. An employee in this class performs preventive maintenance of the systems and repairs a wide variety of the system components and equipment. Work includes inspecting, testing, diagnosing and installing system components and equipment. This class is differentiated from the lower level class in the series by the responsibility for independently performing the full scope of electrical troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing work; and related work as required.
Possession of a Class "C" Master Electrical license from the State of Louisiana. *Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify licensure claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
A qualifying review of license. This is a non-competitive entrance examination in accordance with Rule V, Section 8.1 (b) of the City Civil Service Rules.
