Metal service centers provide customers with readily available aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals inventory and processing. Bayou Metal Supply & Manufacturing focuses on meeting customer needs of available metals in the marine and related industries. We provide inventory management services, and value-added metals processing, such as: precision router cutting with our three onsite CNC routers, cutting to length, plasma cutting, precision sawing and shearing, and more, before distributing these products to manufacturers and other end-users.

Job Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods. This role ensures supply chain operations run smoothly, cost-effectively, and meet customer delivery expectations while maintaining compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and manage logistics strategies to optimize transportation and distribution efficiency
  • Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
  • Analyze logistics data and KPIs to identify areas for cost reduction and performance improvement
  • Develop and enforce logistics policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations
  • Resolve shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies quickly and effectively
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, sales, and customer service teams
  • Lead, train, and evaluate logistics and transportation staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software, ERP systems, and transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Experience managing freight (LTL, FTL, intermodal, or international shipping)
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
