IT Field Technician

Traveling to two Lowes locations a day, performing hardware/network breakfix, acting as the eyes-ears-face of IT for Lowes. What are the top two required skills that candidates must have? Communication skills and networking knowledge (CAT6). What will the work schedule be for this position? M-F 8-5, OT and on-call not required. How many overall years of experience should this person have? Two years minimum professional IT experience. Do they need any specific certifications or education? CompTIA A+ preferred or will be required within six months of employment. If contract to hire what is the conversion rate? $18-20. How many miles per day will the contractor be driving? Varies depending on the day but could be up to 100+ a day (road warrior role). What is the exact work location or city, state, zip? Multiple Lowes around the region - ideally 2501 Elysian Fields Ave, New Orleans, LA 70117 as a home store. How soon will candidate review and interviews start? ASAP.

What you'll do:

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Travel within a radius of 25 to 100+ miles daily in a specific route
• Understand AC/DC and backup power concepts
• Provide excellent time management and reporting skills
• Be familiar with various operating systems (e.g. - Windows OS, OSX, Linux/Unix)
• Manage triage, troubleshooting and resolution to client scope on IT equipment
• Occasionally works at heights of 20' to 25', lift equipment training provided
• Document efforts, issues and resolutions, close cases/tickets daily
• Experience desired in copper and fiber cabling and various terminating connectors
• Insight to POS, PC, printers, thin clients, AP's, servers, network switch equipment

Who you are:

• Work experience: 1 year of IT support work experience
• A+ certification preferred or must be obtained within first three months of employment
• Deskside support experience and two years
• Desktop break/fix experience and two years
• Field technician dispatch experience and two years
• Networking experience and two years
