Position and Location
Medical Science Liaison – Cardiovascular
Location: Houston, South Texas & Louisiana
Role Summary
The MSL drives scientific exchange, partners with healthcare providers and thought leaders, and supports clinical research within their geographic territory. The role enhances medical education, data generation, and patient access to BMS medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research thought leaders, HCPs, and access stakeholders to answer scientific, product, and HEOR questions.
- Deliver scientific presentations (1:1, group, remote) and respond to questions, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of disease‑state strategies, products, clinical trials, health economics, and the competitive landscape.
- Identify opportunities to partner on disease‑state initiatives and collaborative or investigator‑sponsored research (ISR).
- Attend medical congresses and regional meetings; provide insights back to medical and commercial teams.
- Collaborate with cross‑matrix field teams to support product and scientific training and to provide scientific updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support interventional and non‑interventional research studies, including site assessment, feasibility input, and investigators' training on BMS protocols.
- Respond to adverse events and ensure compliance with BMS pharmacovigilance procedures.
- Assist in the execution of investigator‑sponsored research and promotional meetings as required.
Required Experience
- MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, or NP with experience in a specific disease area or a broad medical background and relevant pharmaceutical experience.
Desired Knowledge and Experience
- Deep knowledge of the cardiovascular disease area, clinical trial design, and the national healthcare environment.
- Understanding of scientific publications and health economics outcomes research (HEOR).
- Minimum of 2 years in a clinical or pharmaceutical environment, preferably with MSL experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of translating data into actionable insights for healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; quick learning of new subject areas.
- Demonstration of BMS values.
Essential Qualification
- Must be able to operate a BMS‑provided vehicle; a safe driving record is required.
Travel and Field Requirements
- Field‑based role; must reside within 50 miles of the territory.
- Travel will be required to meet external customers and attend conferences.
Compensation Overview
Field – United States – $166,090 – $201,262 (annual base). Eligibility for additional incentive cash and stock varies by performance.
