We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:

The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering (ME) manages a team of Manufacturing Engineers who will focus on developing tooling, resolving and preventing issues in production, and incorporating design changes. The team will correct errors in work instructions and parts allocations in real time, eliminating production downtime and inefficiencies. ME Supervisors will restructure work scope between build stations as required to maintain an efficient product flow and support production by providing on‑the‑spot coverage for questions and clarifications on work scope, technical details, or blueprint interpretation. The team will review Engineering Change Notice (ECN) content to prevent future issues from reaching production.

The ME Supervisor will ensure production support departments work together to meet schedule and objectives, develop and maintain relevant team performance metrics, and implement corrective actions to address deficiencies. In coordination with the ME manager, the Supervisor provides strategic direction for short‑ and long‑term improvements regarding safety, quality, and cost. This individual must be passionate about innovation, standardization, and quality, possess exceptional communication skills, and have the power to positively influence and develop others while being a result‑oriented leader.

Responsibilities

  • Tooling design and implementation
  • Daily production issue firefighting and resolution
  • Restructuring Bill of Material (BOM) and work instructions to better facilitate product flow through the factory
  • Work closely with manufacturing leadership teams to provide the bridge between design and build
  • Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times
  • Support all current and new product introductions
  • Review proposed change content for impacts

Education

B.S. degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years direct leadership experience
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent, preferably in the marine/military/aerospace field
  • Good working knowledge of electronic and mechanical engineering and skilled in manufacturing process methods and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process improvement techniques
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements, cost reductions, and productivity enhancements in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems is recommended
  • Experience in shop practices in product planning and with military specifications for systems, products and materials
  • Skilled in sound management techniques and experienced in dealing with and getting action from people not under his/her supervision
  • Ability to work independently and closely with a diverse group of people in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem‑identification/analytical resolution skills using statistical comprehension methods required
  • Ability to interface effectively and efficiently with peers, employees, and management within and across the organization
