About This Role

You will be responsible for:

  • The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering (ME) manages a team of Manufacturing Engineers focused on developing tooling, resolving and preventing production issues, and incorporating design changes.
  • The team corrects errors in work instructions and parts allocations in real time, eliminating downtime and inefficiencies.
  • The ME Supervisor restructures work scope between build stations to maintain efficient product flow and provides on‑the‑spot coverage for questions on scope, technical details, or blueprint interpretation.
  • The ME Supervisor guides the team in reviewing Engineering Change Notice (ECN) content to prevent future issues from reaching production.
  • The ME Supervisor ensures production support departments work together to meet schedule and objectives, develops and maintains team performance metrics, and implements corrective actions.
  • In coordination with the ME manager, provides strategic direction for short‑ and long‑term improvements regarding safety, quality, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily production issue firefighting and resolution.
  • Restructuring Bill of Material (BOM) and work instructions to improve product flow.
  • Work closely with manufacturing Leadership teams to bridge design and build.
  • Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Support all current and new product introductions.
  • Review proposed change content for impacts.

Education

B.S. degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline required.

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years direct leadership experience.
  • 4+ years experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent, preferably in marine/military/aerospace field.
  • Good working knowledge of electronic and mechanical engineering and skilled in manufacturing processes, methods, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process improvement techniques.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements, cost reductions, and productivity enhancements.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems is recommended.
  • Experience with shop practices in product planning and with military specifications for systems, products, and materials.
  • Skilled in sound management techniques and experienced in dealing with and getting action from people not under direct supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and closely with a diverse team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem identification/analytical resolution skills using statistical methods.
  • Ability to interface effectively with peers, employees, and management across the organization.
