Maintenance And Reliability Engineering Supervisor

This position will lead engineering and maintenance activities at two small plant locations to support business growth and is responsible for continuous improvement activities to achieve safety, quality, service, and cost performance expectations. Essential duties and success outcomes include:

  • Leading all hiring, training, and development of the three-person maintenance team to maximize growth, retention, and productivity.
  • Planning, directing, and monitoring preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure the company's buildings, facilities, machinery, and production equipment operate reliably and efficiently.
  • Developing a strong working knowledge of key production equipment and gaining familiarity with equipment's mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Coordinating maintenance resources and activities to optimize customer fulfillment by ensuring equipment efficiency, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Analyzing performance reports to identify opportunities and lead corresponding improvements.
  • Developing, training, implementing, and improving standard operating procedures to sustain improvement projects.
  • Championing food safety programs by participating on SQF, HACCP, safety, and process improvement teams.
  • Enhancing the preventive maintenance program to maximize production equipment reliability.
  • Optimizing parts room inventory strategy.
  • Overseeing contracted maintenance services such as forklift maintenance and lawncare.
  • Evaluating production activities for equipment upgrades and/or automation opportunities.
  • Evaluating and enhancing facility infrastructure to support business operations.
  • Participating in the development and execution of capital investment plans.
  • Interacting with internal and external customers, vendors, and prospects in support of company initiatives.

Skills, qualifications, and experience include:

  • Two-year technical education program. (Electronic/Electrical Technician preferred)
  • Two to four years of maintenance experience
  • Ability to lead people and effective communication skills
  • Proven technical and analytical ability (e.g., trouble-shoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems)
