Disaster Response Crews Needed - Emergency POD Staffing (On-Call)

Overview
Cabildo Staffing is building a team of reliable, on-call personnel to support emergency response efforts throughout Louisiana. These positions are only activated when a natural disaster occurs (such ashurricanes, severe storms, or other emergency events).

Selected candidates will be assigned to Points of Distribution (PODs) and warehouse sites, where essential supplies such as bottled water, Meals Ready-to-Eat (MREs), and tarps are distributed to the community.

Job Details

• Location: Louisiana (various PODs and warehouses)
• Position Type: Temporary / On-Call
• Assignment: Activated as needed during disaster events
• Schedule: Variable (long shifts, including nights and weekends)
• Pay: Varies by position and assignment

Important Note
These positions are NOT immediate or guaranteed employment. Candidates will be added to an availability list and contacted when emergency operations are activated. Availability on short notice is required.

Available Positions

1. Forklift Operators (PODs & Warehouses)

• Operate forklifts (sit-down or rough terrain) to move supply pallets
• Work in outdoor, high-activity environments

Requirements:

• Valid forklift certification
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to operate safely in fast-paced, confined environments
• Cabildo Staffing may conduct on-site evaluations for experienced operators (does not apply to heavy equipment)

2. General Labor Staff (PODs)

• Load water, MREs, and tarps into vehicles
• Assist equipment operators
• Direct traffic and support site operations
• Perform light cleanup as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to repeatedly lift 25-40 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong teamwork attitude

3. Skid Steer Operators (Warehouse - Roseland, LA)

• Operate skid steer to move materials and debris
• Assist with site organization and logistics

Requirements:

• Valid skid steer certification (no on-site certification provided)
• Valid driver's license
• Prior heavy equipment experience

Certification & Compliance Requirements

• Must pass a drug screen and background check
• All operators must have proper certification:

  • Heavy equipment operators must be certified prior to assignment
• All operators must have a valid driver's license
