Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal training program in Extracorporeal Technology
  • Certification by The American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
  • Current license as a Perfusionist by the Louisiana State Board of Medical or ability to obtain a state license
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Proficiency in adult cardiopulmonary bypass, ventricular assist support, intra-aortic balloon pump support, and ECMO
  • Ability to perform auto transfusion, physiological monitoring, hemofiltration (including acute dialysis), and operate blood analyzers and Ex-vivo organ systems
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in emergency response or working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Prior exposure to OR procedures involving high-acuity cardiac cases
  • Advanced knowledge of blood analysis and organ support systems

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor s or higher degree in Perfusion Technology or related healthcare field
  • Proven experience in cardiac perfusion settings, ideally with exposure to emergency team assignments

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to be part of an emergency response team and report to assigned shifts as needed
  • Valid certifications and licenses must be maintained and up-to-date
  • Ability to work on day shifts (Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM 3:00 PM)
  • Travel reimbursement and licensure-related expenses covered when applicable
  • Reliable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Hourly Pay Rate: $179.40
