Job Title: Senior Manager of Learning Enablement & Design
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description
This role is 100% remote; must adhere to CST hours and be able to hop on meetings with short notice. No preference for local candidates; this manager wants the best person for the job.
Note: this role is ideally CTH; targeting candidates that are willing and able to convert to FTE without sponsorship.
Required:
Must have role-based training experience.
Must have 5+ years of prior L&D / Instructional Design experience.
Must have experience developing and creating new content and new L&D / Instructional Design programs and have experience measuring the effectiveness of the training.
A bachelor's degree is required.
Tools required: "Articulate" tool & SharePoint.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Two rounds of interviews; one video interview with the HM and another panel interview with the team.
Why this role is back open: the previous consultant was unreliable and hard to get a hold of. They missed meetings, had unreliable internet, lack of communication, etc.
This role will help create new content, strategies, learning paths, training materials, and more for AbbVie. This is a critical role in leading the creation of aligning training to role-based training.
Candidates who have come from higher-ed / education backgrounds have historically not been a fit on this team.
Description:
The Senior Manager of Learning Enablement and design executes the learning strategy to provide curricula, media, and learning program design and development expertise to the Business Technology Solutions organization. Ensures the use of varied, appropriate methodologies effectively and efficiently developing engaging, robust learning programs in support of elevating the performance of the workforce.
This role will be responsible for:
Partner with Senior Leadership to ensure alignment with market trends is balanced with business objectives and priorities when driving the Learning Strategy. Summarize and succinctly communicate to leadership and colleagues the status of training deliverables.
Effectively identify and lead high-performing teams in support of the strategy and vision. Able to translate strategy into operations and manage multiple changing priorities.
Build best-in-class Instructional Design and Media content to execute upon the training strategy that drives excellence in BTS. Establish and maintain a culture aligned with AbbVie's pillars and Talent Philosophy.
Work across divisions with training teams to establish best-in-class instructional design practices and content.
Collaborate closely with AbbVie and industry curricula leaders to ensure alignment, determine future focus, and share best practices.
Analyze and evaluate learning needs in support of business processes including onboarding, skills gaps, and reflecting regulatory requirements.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curricula by creating and implementing measures to track outcomes and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Identifies learner goals and desired outcomes. Builds a content and media strategy to guide educational content creation. Creates "blueprints" for others to follow.
Partners with SMEs to create educational content such as interactive courses, media and learning strategy, learner engagement, and program goals.
Accountable for estimating and coordinating instructional design and media resources needed to meet the learning strategy expectations. Effectively balance stakeholder input with curricula expertise.
Provide subject matter expertise and coaching on instructional media, adult learning principles, eLearning design and development, and adult learning methodology. Develop and implement communication plans in support of learning programs.
May lead or participate in global, cross-functional initiatives/teams in support of business priorities. Represent Process and Performance Learning during regulatory inspections, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
Establish and maintain instructional design and media branding and templates that result in a consistent standard of learning material deliverables. Establish and maintain a change control process to manage learning requests, approvals, and training material updates. Manage processes and tools to establish and maintain training plans, learning imperatives, and training delivery via the learning management system.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or ex-US equivalent) is required, in instructional design, training & development, or a related field. Must have 7+ years of adult learning-related experience; 5+ years of experience preferably with learning solutions design. Training delivery experience with web-based training, eLearning, train-the-t, blended learning, simulations, microlearning, action learning, mobile learning, and webinars.
Experience with instructional design principles and adult learning tools for skills-building pathways, and career streams.
