Full-Time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) - School-Based (1099 Independent Contractor)

We're seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide exceptional educational support to students throughout Maryland. If you're passionate about helping students with visual impairments achieve academic success and greater independence, we'd love to connect with you.

Responsibilities

* Provide direct instructional services to students with visual impairments in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
* Conduct assessments and assist in determining appropriate educational supports and accommodations.
* Develop and implement goals that promote academic achievement, independence, and access to the curriculum.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers, orientation and mobility specialists, related service providers, administrators, and families.
* Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Recommend and support the use of assistive technology and instructional materials for students with visual impairments.
* Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs.
* Utilize virtual platforms for meetings, collaboration, and documentation when appropriate.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements.

Qualifications

* Active Maryland Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification or licensure required.
* Minimum of 2 years of recent school-based experience preferred.
* Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
* Knowledge of instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology for students with visual impairments.
* Comfortable using virtual technology and online platforms.
* Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
* Candidates certified or licensed in additional states are encouraged to apply, as we may have opportunities available in those locations as well.

1099 Independent Contractor Information

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Contractors are paid weekly in full for all approved hours worked. No deductions are taken for benefits, retirement, liability insurance, or taxes. Contractors are responsible for setting aside funds for income taxes and obtaining their own professional liability insurance.
