Phlebotomist (Nights)Responsible for the collection of blood and other specimens from residents in long‑term care settings in the Slidell/Bogalusa area, including but not limited to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other residential care environments. Working under the standards of a CLIA‑certified laboratory, the phlebotomist ensures timely, safe, compassionate specimen collection while maintaining the integrity of samples for accurate diagnostic testing.Core ResponsibilitiesTravel daily to multiple nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other residential care environments to perform phlebotomy procedures, pick up specimens, or deliver suppliesVerify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of all specimens according to laboratory protocolCollect blood samples using proper techniques and equipmentPrepare specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring appropriate packaging and documentationFollow all CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control regulationsMaintain communication with lab personnel, facility staff, and healthcare providers regarding any issues or concernsDocument all visits, patient interactions, and sample collections accurately in electronic or paper logsMaintain phlebotomy supplies, including restocking and proper disposal of sharps and biohazardous materials.
