Adjunct Faculty Opportunities

Lesley University always welcomes applications for adjunct faculty to teach upcoming clinical and non-clinical courses in areas such as Art Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy, Drama Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Music Therapy. Classes are either taught in-person or remote depending on the specific course.

Since adjunct faculty positions are ongoing, evergreen positions, your materials will remain on file and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the upcoming semesters. By submitting your application, you will be put into consideration for current and future adjunct positions within the Expressive Therapies subject area. We hire adjunct faculty on a regular cadence to support our Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The specific course hired for is subject to change depending on semester, course catalog, and department need.

Our programs in Mental Health & Well-Being start with undergraduate degrees in Psychology+, our unique multidisciplinary psychology program that includes specializations and dual degrees, ranging from Holistic Psychology to Expressive Therapies. Our Master's degree in Counseling & Psychology include specializations in School and Community, Holistic Studies, and Trauma Studies as well as Expressive Therapies where Lesley is one of the few universities offering all five specializations: Art, Dance, Drama, Music, and Expressive Arts.

In our Ph.D. program, students work closely with their faculty advisor to choose their dissertation topic, after engaging in rigorous coursework, as part of a cohort of passionate, creative scholars. Our programs also include both undergraduate and graduate programs in Social Work, and a unique master's in Mindfulness Studies, where students are at the forefront of bringing this discipline into many professional and personal pursuits.

Qualities & Capabilities

Non-Clinical Course Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent required in Art Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy, Drama Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Music Therapy, or related field
  • PhD or equivalent preferred
  • Successful experience teaching in-person and/or online in the particular discipline at the graduate level preferred.

Clinical Course Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent required in Art Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy, Drama Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Music Therapy, or related field
  • PhD or equivalent preferred
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor or equivalent required
  • Relevant specialization certification preferred
  • Clinical supervision experience required
    • For second placement year clinical instructors, candidates must have 3+ years full-time (or equivalent part-time) post-licensure clinical experience
  • Successful experience teaching in-person and/or online in the particular discipline at the graduate level preferred.
