Job Description:

• OpenText Communications (Exstream) Upgrade Engineer/Administrator - Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills
• Lead OpenText Communications (formerly Exstream) platform upgrades, including version assessment, upgrade planning, execution, validation, and production cutover.
• Install, configure, and upgrade OpenText Communications Server, Runtime Engine, Design Manager, and supporting components across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
• Perform pre-upgrade compatibility assessments, configuration analysis, repository migration, and post-upgrade verification to ensure application integrity.
• Upgrade and configure supporting infrastructure, including Windows/Linux servers, Java/JDK, Apache Tomcat/WebLogic/WebSphere, and SQL Server/Oracle databases.
• Automate upgrade, deployment, and environment configuration tasks using PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, DevOps, or Git.
• Troubleshoot upgrade failures, deployment issues, application performance bottlenecks, and integration problems by analyzing logs, system configurations, and database objects.
• Validate and optimize integrations with enterprise applications, REST/SOAP web services, document workflows, print/output channels, and file transfer mechanisms after upgrades.
• Develop and maintain upgrade runbooks, rollback procedures, disaster recovery plans, deployment documentation, and environment validation checklists.
• Implement platform security updates, performance tuning, patch management, monitoring, and operational best practices to ensure a stable and secure OpenText Communications environment.
