The hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:45 am - 5 pm.A Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician in providing care to their patients.Job Duties Takes vitals on all patients as requiredObtains and updates all patient information as neededAssists patients as necessaryAble to give injections and vaccinations to patientsOrganizational skills and prioritizing a must along with a great work ethicMust be willing to work in other areas as neededPreparing treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and cleanClean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated suppliesKeep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receiptOrganize and arrange examining-room instruments and equipment, purchase and maintain supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and cleanCall patient back and room patient into exam roomVerify patient information by interviewing patient and reviewing medical history; updating medical history; confirming purpose of visitPrepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summaryHelp physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials along with documenting the visit along with services performed in EMR softwareStay attentive during patient visitSchedule procedures in office or by making arrangements with the surgical center; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent formsCounsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions and explaining treatment procedures, medications and physicians' instructions to patientsAuthorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmaciesContact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests and/or admissionProvide pre operative and post operative discharge careQualifications Must have high school diploma or GEDPositive attitudeTeam playerExcellent communication and customer service skillsComputer and phone skillsMust be willing to obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hireHealthcare ExperiencePrior Medical Assistant Experience is preferred but not requiredMedical Assistant Certification preferred but not requiredComputer Proficiency is requiredScribe Training (Preferred)#J-18808-Ljbffr
