Seeking Direct Care Workers to work with individuals in our community homes and NOW waiver program. Hammond Strawberry Fields is a non-profit organization that provides professional services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Please attach resume or apply in person at 14455 University Ave. Hammond, LA 70401. Business hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday thru Friday.

Full –Time and Part –Time

8-hour shifts – Day/Evening/Night

Job Duties:

Assisting with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, oral care, etc.)

Assisting with daily life activities (meal prep, housekeeping, shopping, money management, use of community services, etc.)

Accompany and transport individuals to activities (medical appointments, church services, recreation activities, work, shopping, etc.)

Report and appropriately document: accidents/injuries, behavior incidents, medical issues, safety issues, abuse/neglect

Requirements:

Must pass criminal background check

Valid driver’s license

Proof of car insurance (for NOW waiver)

Experience working with Intellectual and/or Developmental disabilities

Experience with non-ambulatory care preferred
